7 arrested over Bangladesh mission attack in Agartala

Indian authorities arrested seven individuals, suspended three policemen, and ‘closed’ a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) following a security breach at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, Tripura.

Kiran Kumar K, superintendent of police (SP) of West Tripura, confirmed the action against police personnel.

“Three sub-inspectors have been suspended, and a DSP has been ‘closed’ and shifted to the police headquarters, for alleged negligence of duty,” he said.

A suo motu case was registered at the New Capital Complex (NCC) police station, and seven individuals have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident, he added.

The incident occurred during a protest by members of the Hindu Sangharsh Samity yesterday.
